Armando will be joining our team on Monday, Aug. 18th. We are very excited and honored to have a veteran trainer, such as Armando. He brings a 10 year professional personal training experience to our team. His unique training abilities have helped hundreds of clients breakthrough barriers and accomplish milestones.

On a more personal note, I have worked with Armando in the past at another studio, and his dedication towards clients, professionalism and integrity is infectious. He is not only an inspiration to clients, but to other professionals he surrounds.

After a frustrating month of let downs from Renegades web hosting company, we are finally back online again and back in blogging mode. We apologize for any delays in our systems and for the lack of blog posts over the past month or so.

We are pleased to announce that Renegades very own client, Kathy Jambor has qualified for the Boston Marathon! Check out her article by the "This Week Eagan" paper at http://www.thisweeklive.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2435&Itemid=64

Kathy's hard work, dedication and never ending pursuit of excellence paid off for her 2 weeks ago at Grandma's Marathon. Her relentless training and dedication helped her achieve a personal best time of 3 hours and 46 minutes! Kathy finished 22nd in her age bracket, 192nd among all women and 1,172nd overall!

Only Kathy's 3rd marathon and already she's accomplished so much. Kathy struggled to overcome ongoing knee, hip, low back and neck pain for the past 3+ years, agonizing her first two marathons. After a short 2 months of training at the Renegade Torture Chamber, Kathy ran her first marathon absolutely pain free!

Kathy is continuing on her relentless journey and is now training for the Twin Cities marathon in October, Boston next year and an even greater feat....an ultra Marathon!

Ultra marathons are an exhuasting 100 miles long. Our hats go off to these mas·och·ist (gratification gained from pain) athletes. Walk or run, they have only 30 hours to complete the race. This race can only be defined by the Renegade modo...Get it done by any means necessary!

Just a quick heads up.

The company that hosts the RPTF website has been administering some kind of testing over the past 2 weeks. These tests have caused some problems to the RPTF website, making user navigation a bit troubling.

We apologize for any delays in reaching us, as our contact page has also been impacted by this. If you need to contact us please email us at info@renegade-fitness.net

Regards,
RPTF Staff

Worst Foods In America

I recently recieved an email from a client listing the top 10 worst foods in America. I don't know how credible the list is, however these are foods the majority of us have either heard of or digested at one point or another.

Here are the foods found in the fit state of Minnesota:

1) Chipotle chicken burrito - 1,179 cal., 7g fat, 125g carbs, 2,656mg sodium

2) Ruby Tuesday Bella Turkey Burger - 1,145 cal., 71g fat, 56g carbs

3) Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips from McDonalds - 830 cal., 48 carbs

4) Macaroni Grill Double Mac N Cheese - 1,210 cal., 62g fat

5) Quiznos Classic Italian Sandwich - 1370 cal., 86g fat

6) P. F. Changs Pork Lo Mein - 1,820 cal., 127g fat, 95g carbs

7) Outback Steak House Aussie Cheese Fries - 2,900 cal., 182g fat, 240g carbs

For the majority of us, eating out is inevitable. However, no matter what restaurant we choose to eat at, there are always decisions we can make to make eating-out healthier:

1) Ask for a salad, substituting romaine lettuce for iceberg lettuce, with a grilled chicken breast and fat free dressing on the side.

2) Order fish or white meat off the grill.

3) Drink a glass of water before ordering an appetizer.

4) Control portion sizes

5) Ask for whole grain bread, buns, etc.

6) Request that your meal be prepared with olive oil, veg. oil, etc.

7) For desert ask for sherbet or fruit instead of cake and ice cream.

And there you have it.
